1、Principle and application of discoloration
Thermalchromic yarn is a kind of color that changes repeatedly with the increase or decrease of
temperature. The commonly used discoloration temperature is 31 degree, commonly known as
touch discoloration and hand discoloration. There are PP\PE thermalchromic yarns available
Thermalchromic yarn has a wide range of uses, and can be used to make ornaments, textiles, wigs,
ribbons, trademarks and so on.
2、Basic color
Our thermalchromic yarn are based on 18℃, 22℃, 31℃, 33℃, 45℃ and 65℃, and others need to
be customized.
15 basic colors (colored at low temperature and colorless at high temperature) as below:
Except basic color, we can also offer color change to color.
Like orange to yellow, green to yellow, purple to blue, purple to red, red to yellow, blue to yellow,
purplish red to light blue, purplish blue to light red and coffee to red etc
3、Discoloration temperature
3.1 Discoloration temperature
In fact, the discoloration temperature of thermalchromic yarn is not a temperature point, but a
temperature range, that is, the temperature range from the beginning to the end of discoloration.
The width of this temperature range is generally 4-6℃, and the temperature range of some
varieties with high color change accuracy is narrow, only 2-3℃.
3.2 Discoloration cycles number
Discoloration cycles number is around 1000-5000 times
4、Use-condition
Thermalchromic yarn itself is an unstable system, so its light resistance, heat resistance, aging
resistance and other properties are not good as ordinary yarn, so we need to pay more attention to
it when use.
4.1 Light resistance
Thermalchromic yarn has poor light resistance, and it will fade quickly when exposed to strong
sunlight. Therefore, it is only suitable for indoor use, and the irradiation of strong sunlight and
ultraviolet light should be avoided, which is conducive to prolonging the service life of
thermalchromic yarn.
4.2 Heat resistance
The thermal stability of thermalchromic yarn is different in colored state and colorless state, and
the stability of the former is higher. In addition, when the temperature is higher than 80℃, the
organic matter that constitutes the color-changing system will also begin to degrade. Therefore,
the thermalchromic yarn should avoid working at a temperature higher than 75℃ for a long time.
5、how to store it
This product should be stored in a cool, dry and completely dark place. Because the stability of
thermalchromic yarn in colored state is higher than that in colorless state, so varieties with lower
discoloration temperature should be stored in freezer. Under the above conditions, most of
thermalchromic yarns have not obviously deteriorated after 5 years of storage.
